My Travel notes: Here are some of my travel experiences. I will write detailed articles as and when I have the time. If you are curious, ask me about the details

Have been seriously lost inside an active Glacier at the Mount Everest Base Camp (2005 Mount Everest BC, Nepal)

Went to a Soccer game in Argentina with 45,000 non-English speaking fans. The game was sold out. Since no one understood that I wanted to buy a ticket, I had to flash money to get in to see the most famous Soccer team (Boca - Maradona used to be on this team long ago).

Did you know? Buenos Aires has the widest Avenue in the world (450 ft wide!! - 20 lanes).

Have jumped out of a plane from 16,000ft. Free fall for 60 seconds at 120 miles an hour (1996-97 Monterey, CA).

Have had a close encounter with a bear in the forest on a backpacking trip. Hey bear, hey bear, where are you, hey bear... (1999-2000 Stanislaus National Forest, Northern California)

I was flying a friends Cessna plane with him, when at 4,500 ft my pilot door opened towards the outside. I looked at Brad while flying the plane and he casually said, "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that the door latch has a problem. Just close the door and hold it while flying. Well, I am still alive to tell you this story... (1997 Near Sacramento, California).

Have been lost on an adventure-4x4-overnight trip in a desert (Anza Borrego Desert- near San Diego, CA). We were 8 of us in two SUVs and got lost in the dunes that get washed away by rains each year. Didn't have a clue where we were, and had to camp overnight only to find out the following morning that we were going round and round in circles in the desert hardly one mile from the trail. (1998 - Anza Borrego, California)

Flew to Mount Shasta in my flying club plane, for a one day mountain biking trip. One the way back, due to clouds, we had to get help from the tower to guide us.. but it was dark by the time we landed and we were not rated to fly at night!!! (1998-9 Mount Sashta, California).

Met with Rick Steves (Famous author of travel books and host of a TV program) in Amsterdam. I had his book in my hand and didn't recognize him when he was sitting opposite me in a hop-on-hop-off boat ride. I kept praising Rick Steves' book in front of him, not knowing it was him. He smiled and asked me to look at the back cover of the book. There was a picture of him. I was emberresed. Then I got his autograph on his book and took a picture with him.

Stopped an escalator in a crowded mall in Chunking Mansion in Hong Kong when I was 5. The security guard came and started it again and told my parents that I will become an engineer when I grow up :-)
